I’ve worked in the childcare field for about 5+ years. I started off as a volunteer at 11 years old in Brooklyn. As a volunteer I helped with light cleaning, read stories and played with the kids. From there I knew this is what I wanted to do in my career. When I moved to Long Island in 2013 I had the opportunity to become a daycare assistant at Academic Munchkins in Valley Stream. As a daycare assistant I started off working with five and six year olds. I planned the kids' day out, did activities with them and helped the after school kids with their homework and school projects. The following semester I worked with kids ages two to four years old. We did arts and crafts, learnt the alphabet and the colors. The following semester I worked with 6 month olds to 1 year olds. Here is where I spent the remainder of my time at Academic Munchkins. I worked with the babies for about one year. I made bottles for the babies, we did tummy time and I sang songs to the babies. When I started college I worked for the company College Sitters. Here I was a nanny and on-call baby sitter. I've worked with many different families with kids from different ages. I supervised kids when their parents went out for dinner dates, I helped families that needed assistance with after school care and much more! I enjoy working with kids a lot, seeing their growth and their smile and knowing that I contributed in that makes me very proud and happy. In September I will start my LPN program to become a licensed practical nurse and from there I plan on pursuing my goal to become a pediatric nurse . I have a 5 hr minimum for bookings in Manhattan and Brooklyn
