Karen L.
Sitter / Nanny
First and foremost, I am a mom to two young adult children. Both are thriving independently. I am also a Registered Nurse with BSN. I have been caring for children since I was 12 years old both privately and in a child care setting. I have experience from newborn care through teens, including medically fragile and those on spectrum. I am well versed feeding, diapering, bathing, developmental stages, milestones and much more. Routine is important and the earlier a child can start to maintain a routine, the better each transition will be. I am a detail oriented person, so daily logs are essential to maintaining communication with the family. I am always available and ready to answer any questions the parents may have.
I work in a school district and have experience with children aged Pre-K through high school. I maintain the health office for over 400 students and staff members. I am in charge of incoming and outgoing students, maintaining EMR's, student charts and a variety of daily tasks. I have experience with children of all ages on the autism spectrum. I have managed children with medical needs such as diabetes, tube feedings. seizures and life threatening allergies. I not only support the student body and their physical needs, I also support them emotionally and psychologically as the situation warrants. I am detailed, organized and a great communicator. While I might maintain the health office solo, I work with an amazing team of social workers, teachers, principals and psychologists who together we support each other and the entire student body and staff.
Note: I need at least a 3 hour of advance booking notice to ensure I can travel to your home on time.
