Night Nanny

With over twenty years of experience, I have worked as a Certified Labor Doula, Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Infant Specialist/Baby Nurse. Augmenting my own breast-feeding experience, I completed lactation training through St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City. I am also certified in CPR and Infant First Aid. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with incredible babies and parents from all walks of life, including notable individuals such as Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, Art Garfunkel, James Dolan of MSG (New York Knicks), Melissa Francis, and screenwriter/director David Koepp. When we first meet Ann, our household was in sad shape. Two night nurses had fled our employ exhausted because our two month old son only slept in one and two hour intervals. I had called an agency in desperation, asking for anyone who specializes in serious sleep problems. I had given up on the idea that my son would ever nap on his own. Then Ann arrived. She looked at the sleeping baby in my arms and said “what’s the issue?” I described him as a grenade baby: when you set him down, he explodes. She took the barely 7 pound premie from me and encouraged me to go out to dinner and relax. In the morning she and the baby emerged well rested and said with a smile “what is he supposed to do again? He slept nicely. Let’s start over.” In fact we didi start over, and my son never had another sleeping issue. To this day, we have eliminated the sleeping issues so many others describe: challenges with naps or battles at bedtime have been kept at bay. Her basic philosophies have served us though out my son’s life so far. And when I became pregnant with my second son, we called Ann before we even told our families.
