Night Nanny
I'm Melinda, a licensed Newborn Care Specialist and Night Nurse, dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to families in NYC. Originally from the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago, I've called New York my home since 1999. With a Newborn Care Specialist certification and training in infant, toddler, and adult CPR and AED, my purpose is to support families and provide a safe and nurturing environment. Currently, I'm working towards obtaining my lactation consultant certification and doula training to further enhance the care I provide to families. I offer valuable postpartum support, placing a strong emphasis on caring for the mom. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with a number of families, supporting them through the joys and challenges. My experience includes caring for children of various ages, providing specialized care for multiples, and working with special needs babies. I take great pride in offering these services to your family. Some essential aspects include, guidance on breastfeeding, SIDS prevention, and bathing. I recommend strategies for parents coping with sleep deprivation and offer assistance with household tasks such as tidying, light meals, record keeping, and laundry to ease the load. I am skilled in sleep training techniques and follow the popular "12 hours of sleep by 12 weeks old" method. I have a passion for travel, adventure, attending concerts and shows and animals hold a special place in my heart! I look forward to connecting with you and being a reliable and caring support during this incredible journey of parenthood. Minimum hours per booking: 4 hours. 24-hour bookings based on individual needs.

Night Nanny
I've been a nanny for the past 20 years. My passion has always been those first few weeks with a new baby and helping the family establish an amazing night routine together. Those first weeks are unbelievably amazing and also hard and a great support system can make a huge difference. I feel incredibly drawn to that support roll. I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, IBCLC, to grow my knowledge not just of breastfeeding but all of baby's needs. I worked my way through college as a nanny and continued on full-time post graduation. I went to school to be an elementary school teacher but loved the family experience so much that I stuck with it and have used my degree to nurture and help little ones along the way. I've been with the most amazing family for the last 8.5 years. They mean the absolute world to me and while I wouldn't stop picking them up for school for anything, they are growing up and their needs are changing and this gives me time to really focus on my love of night nannying. I’ve done it off and on throughout the years but I’ve had to be more selective of when I could take jobs because the kiddos were so small. My loyalty to my current family is unwavering and I can’t imagine not being with them too so I am so lucky that they are behind me 100% in following these dreams as well. They’ll love hearing about my night time adventures while we are having our after school adventures. Don’t worry, I’ll have plenty of time for sleep too! I am calm, patient, and have a quiet demeanor that babies love to settle in with at night.
