Marsha H.
Sitter / Nanny
Marsha graduated with a BA in Children and youth studies from Brooklyn College and enjoys working with kids because she learns new things from them every day. She cares for the kids she works with as if they're her own. She has a great sense of humor and enjoys incorporating the seasons into fun activities with the kids (e.g. in the fall, she takes kids to go leaf picking and creates art projects with colorful leaves). Marsha has experience taking care of children from as young as 1 year old and older. She also has experience taking care of multiple children at a time, since she was a lead teacher at a daycare for over two years, and before that was an assistant PreK teacher where she was responsible for up to 15 children. In addition to being a daycare teacher, Marsha has been a private nanny for families. Marsha loves to dive deeper into the interests and activities which children are already interested in. So, if your child is interested in architecture and building, she'll make sure to dedicate time to playing with legos or blocks. Marsha is happy to help your children with their remote learning in your home. Cooking: Marsha loves to cook and even has a side business where she cooks seafood boils (this is her specialty). She is of course happy to cook whatever requests your family has. Her eventual goal is to open a nonprofit organization for children in Haiti. Marsha speaks fluent French, English, and Haitian Creole. She is happy to help with light housekeeping, as well. Marsha considers herself a bit of a clean freak in the best way possible. Marsha gets tested for COVID-19 periodically. Her most recent PCR test result on January 3, 2021 was negative.

Shani D.
Sitter / Nanny
Easing going, bubbly and motivated, Shani loves to work with children! She graduated with a BA in Psychology and Health & Human Services from University at Buffalo. All of her internships and professional experiences have been within childcare (she has worked as a preschool teacher, camp counselor and at University of Buffalo’s Early Childhood Research Center). The children at the preschool which she worked at loved her so much, that the parents would consistently ask for private childcare. Shani has over 10 years of experience watching children from 12 months old and older. She started out by babysitting in high school, and then continued working with children and studying psychology and how to bring out the best in each child through her experiences of working as a preschool teacher where she created safe learning environments for children to be able to explore in, through privately babysitting, and through leading groups of young campers. She enjoys babysitting because she enjoys helping a child learn a new task and it is fulfilling to take part in the development of our future. Activities she can do with kids are: swimming lessons, arts and crafts, board games, puzzles, reading, taking them on field trips and more! Shani loves to teach children about healthy eating habits (she did this while volunteering at the YMCA) and is happy to follow your diet of choice when preparing food for the children. Her long-term goal is to be a special education teacher for early childhood.

Daninel C.
Sitter / Nanny
I have extensive experience caring for children from 3 months up to grade school. I began my first professional childcare experience while still in high school, working at daycare in Brooklyn. I helped with diaper changing, meal prep and reading and writing for the older children. In addition, I have babysat for 5 families for an extended period of time, watching kids from 2 to 14 years old. I love children and am surrounded by children of my own family. Every weekend, 10 of my nieces and nephews come to visit my mother and me, and I am often charged with watching all of them. In addition to childcare, I also work part-time as a professional housekeeper. I find cleaning to be therapeutic! I can prepare children's meals and family meals following simple recipes.

Meg M.
Sitter / Nanny
I have over 10 years of experience in childcare, having served a wide array of roles with children. I began my journey as a professional figure skating instructor in 2012 where I worked for over 7 years as both a group coach and private trainer. I also served as a mentor for aspiring skaters and an academic tutor for various ages. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science & Arts in Biochemistry and Russian with a Business Foundations Certificate in Spring 2017 from The University of Texas at Austin. I began my venture into nannying in 2015 and have several years of Family Assistant and House Management experience. I've always been passionate about serving as a positive role model and caretaker for children of all ages! I am professional, patient, dependable, and energetic. I possess strong interpersonal skills that help foster well-structured, positive work environment. I strongly believe that effective communication is vital to providing a working unit for both the family and caregiver, which I implement in all of my caretaking roles. While the majority of my experience in childcare has not been with infants, I do provide infant care when sitting for families on an as-needed basis and held a temporary position for a family with for a family with an infant. While with this family, the mother was experiencing postpartum depression and they were having trouble with sleep training the infant and establishing a consistent bedtime routine. I was a live-in nanny for about a month while helping sleep train the infant so that I was able to sleep next to the infant's room and provide any assistance needed throughout the night so that the mother could get some proper rest.
