They first started in high school, babysitting kids in their neighborhood, both on a full-time basis during summers and then part-time during school. I have worked for professional childcare agencies since 2004! I have been in a large variety of circumstances including babysitting for multiples, child with functioning special needs, newborns, (the youngest child I have ever taken care of was a week old), including babysitting in hotels with children who didn't speak English. (We spoke the international language of Disney songs, listening and dancing to YouTube.) As a side note, if I am playing music to sing or dance to, I flip my phone over so that we are just listening to the song, not watching it. With that being said, I want to be an extension of you as the parent so I will ask specific questions regarding your parenting style and how to implement into my session.

I recently retired as Chief of Staff to a tech company with 500 employees. I've got free time and would like to spend some portion of that in the company of children. I love kids, find them infinitely interesting and having raised three children to functional adulthood I feel very qualified to stimulate, care for, organize, and even cook (I'm a great cook) for families with children. My children (Princeton, MIT rowers and one chef) all attended Montessori preschools where I witnessed first hand the value of learning by playing.
